d-aware Total Security is massive and requires a good chunk of disk space. Ad-aware Total Security comprises all of the required security components that as standard security suit would have. It provides good protection against viruses, worms, spam, spyware, malware, phishing and unauthorized intrusion.
The firewall of the suite is good at protecting intrusions, it never annoys the user with pop out quires asking the user whether to allow or deny. In the auto pilot mode the software decides all by itself whether to allow or deny programs and applications. This system although gives great user experience often times misses out malicious programs as it does not use behavioral patterns for proactive protection.
The security suite has good spam filter that scans incoming mails and prevents spam emails from entering the inbox. When it comes to malware removal, the software is capable of blocking most of them. Phishing protection offered by the suite is on par with any of the standard security suites. The tune up feature of the software clears temporary files and other unwanted items and tunes the windows configuration for better performance. The downside of the security suite is that it requires more than one GB of disk space and considerably uses system resources. Firewall at times blocks good programs and the parental controls can easily be evaded.
